Find a Rewarding Volunteer Role
Volunteering at RRSC is a highly rewarding experience. You help to ensure our swimmers get to enter competitions, train and travel.
At RRSC all roles in the club are volunteers except for the coaches who are paid. The club cannot offer the full range of opportunities for swimmers without a large number of parents volunteering to fill different roles. All new parents are encouraged to volunteer in some capacity, and in return you will meet new people and make deeper friendships, as well as providing more opportunities for all our swimmers.

Essential Volunteer Roles
Time Keepers
Time Keepers (TKs) are parents or Masters who volunteer on gala and competition days. The TK role records the time of a swimmer in one lane during a competition or gala.
Ideally all parents will complete the TK training and supervision, which takes about 2 hours total. We can never have enough TKs.
Team Managers
Time Managers (TMs) are a great role to support our swimmers. The role simply involves ensuring swimmers are at the right place during galas and competitions and that they have what they need. This is an ideal role for parents who are anyway attending a gala or competition. TMs are not allocated to any particular squad or time commitment, instead we require one TM per 10 swimmers at any gala/competition.
The role does have an online training component and requires a DBS check. We can never have enough TMs.
Squad Parent Rep
Squad Parent Reps are parents who support the coaches once per month during a training session to record swimmer times, and support the Squad Coach with identifying (from the Squad’s list of training goals) when a swimmer has achieved one of their goals, so this can be celebrated.
It is a new role in the club designed to help each swimmer achieve their individual goals and more easily track their progress. Your support in this role will ensure swimmers receive recognition in the same session in which they achieve their goals. You will then also submit these successes to the Club Newsletter.
